Task Force

The Massachusetts Engineers and Architects Emergency Response (MEAER) Task Force is a group of professional engineers and architects, volunteers trained for and capable of being deployed in emergencies or disasters to assist in rapid building and structural assessments in affected areas. Classified as secondary responders, the primary purpose of the task force is to assist other deployed organizations and individuals (FEMA, MEMA, building inspectors, etc.) in rapid recovery after a significant event, where the resources available to those organizations are quickly depleted. Certified through a training program (such as the CalEMA SAP training course), task force members can be called upon during a disaster to rapidly assess building safety of large areas, with the goal of getting people back into their homes and businesses.
